The Kilim

The kilim is first to family use. For fun, the girl spends a few strands of wool on the chain taut by his mother, the young girl weaves for her upcoming wedding, this is the object that will bear witness of its virtues and its sensitivity. The kilim is a traditional weaving, created from warps yarns interwoven with weft yarns.

Less comfortable than pile-rug, the kilim makes up for this quality by the pleasure it offers to the eye, and shows us the great skills weavers developed to create a beautiful work of art.

Wool quality is from the first importance. The best wools comes from a sheep’s first clip and there after from the area around the neck and shoulders. Spinning and dyeing with plants, roots, minerals, and animals too.
