Vintage Barak Kilim 228 x 174 cm - Paris

Hexagons, diamonds, orange, apricot, saffron. This Barak kilim from southeastern Anatolia is around 65 years old — and it still glows like it did on the first day. The colours haven't faded; they've simply settled, softened by time without ever losing their depth.

A customer sent us this photo from their Paris apartment. The kilim owns the entire room, in every sense. Grey sofa, Scandinavian coffee table, marble fireplace — it brings its warmth without imposing. That's what a great antique kilim does: it adapts to anything and quietly pulls it all together.
