Six large diamond medallions descend in column across these 290 x 165 cm (9'6" × 5'5"), each carrying at its heart a different form, a black star, a blue-grey diamond, an arrow, like so many signatures left by a hand that moved forward without a plan but never without intention.
The terracotta and burnt orange that carry them have taken on, over 65 years of life, that particular depth that vegetable dyes develop through time, and that nothing else can produce. The chocolate brown outlines hold the composition with a quiet precision, while sage green and blue-grey come to breathe between the forms, where the eye needs to rest.
