From a distance, one sees a colour. Up close, one discovers hundreds. Across 244 x 167 cm (8'0" × 5'6"), threads of red, ochre, mauve, pale yellow and rosy grey weave horizontally in a natural Afghan wool that absorbs light differently with each hour of the day.
This is not a rug one looks at. It is a rug one feels. It changes with the season, with the angle of the sun, with the mood of the room that receives it. And it is this perpetual movement, woven by hand thread by thread, that makes it something no image truly captures.
