There are reds one cannot quite name. This one hesitates between raspberry, brick and coral, shifting subtly with the light, with the angle, with the hour. Across 295 x 203 cm (9'8" × 6'8") of natural wool woven by hand in north-western Afghanistan, each thread carries a slightly different shade from its neighbour, and it is this accumulation of imperceptible variations that gives the surface that living depth no industrial dye can produce.
No motif, no geometry. Just this colour occupying space with an absolute fullness, and changing the light of an entire room simply by being there.
