In Avsar, on the border between two worlds, the weavers would set warmth and cold in conversation within the same wool. In these 255 x 146 cm (8'4" × 4'9"), two large medallions face one another like two guardians, each carrying at its heart an orange diamond ringed with deep black, crossed by a blue-grey light like a winter's day.
We do not know who wove this piece, nor for whom it was intended. But we know it was never made to be sold, and that is exactly what one feels, in every thread, in every colour that still burns after six decades as though time had forgotten to pass over it.
