Rarely does a kilim reach this format. 365 x 220 cm (11'12" × 7'3"), woven by hand in Aydin, in Western Anatolia, some 70 years ago on a narrow nomadic loom. Two panels sewn together, and the slight variations in tone between the two parts, owing to distinct vegetable dye baths, make the surface breathe like a living thing.
Its abundant palette, orange, pink, ochre and violet, unfolds its diamonds across this entire expanse with a generosity that belongs only to great pieces and great characters.
