Six hexagonal medallions unfold across a deep brown ground within these 150 x 100 cm (4'11" × 3'3"), each in its own colour, blue-grey, vivid orange, olive green, mauve, like six different characters brought together by a Barak weaver who did not want to choose.
The mirrored forms that inhabit each medallion belong to the tribal vocabulary of South-Eastern Anatolia, motifs laden with meaning that sixty years have rendered mysterious without erasing them. The vivid orange borders hold everything together with an energy that has never gone out.
