One did not expect these colours. Lilac, almond green, soft orange, woven together some 55 years ago in South-Eastern Anatolia with a freedom one does not often see.

Within its 150 x 108 cm (4'11" × 3'7"), the interlocking diamonds catch the light differently with each hour, as though the kilim changed mood throughout the day.
