This hand-woven Anatolian hemp once served as a wall hanging or floor divan, its natural and dense material keeping cool through the heat of summers. Fragments of these ancient textiles have been assembled here into 210 x 140 cm (6'11" × 4'7"), each carrying its own memory.
Some panels are almost bare, others laden with dense black stripes. Chevrons, a geometric motif at the centre, two arrows pointing downward, like clues left by someone who knew that one day someone would read between the seams. Every piece had lived before arriving here, and one feels it in every thread.
