420 cm long by 62 cm wide (13'9" × 2'0"). This Kirsehir kilim is a track, a path, a line woven by hand on a narrow nomadic loom some 65 years ago, along which a succession of floral medallions unfolds from top to bottom like the pages of a book one would read standing up, each different from the last in its colour, blue-grey, saffron yellow, powder pink, orange, on a vivid red central column framed by anthracite grey.
There are few pieces in this condition, in this format, with this clarity of composition. A corridor that receives it ceases to be a mere passageway: it becomes something one wants to cross slowly.
