A single medallion, and it is enough for everything. At the centre of these 250 x 150 cm (8'2" × 4'11"), a concentric diamond explodes in circles of colour, bright yellow, electric blue, green, cream, brown, like a luminous target set upon a vivid red ground that multicoloured horizontal bands frame with an almost joyful freedom.
As though the weaver from Manisa had decided that day to hold nothing back, and to put into her wool everything she wanted to see. Woven some 55 years ago, this kilim has not aged. It still radiates.
