Within its 190 x 128 cm (6'3" × 4'2"), this kilim organises itself around a central arch that the weaver built as one builds a house, with care, with order, with a precise idea of what must hold together. The deep red of the field breathes beneath the aged ochre of the borders, and the khaki green that punctuates the whole brings that unexpected note that prevents the eye from settling too quickly.
