There are kilims that warm a room before one has even touched them. This is one of them. Woven in Obruk some 60 years ago, its 210 x 130 cm (6'11" × 4'3") unfold a succession of large ochre medallions on a terracotta ground, with that quiet regularity of weavers who know exactly where they are going.
The tones have ripened with time, shedding what was too vivid in them to keep what matters.
