Sihli, a small town of Central Anatolia, has produced kilims of large repeated compositions, generous and rhythmic. Woven by hand in natural wool some 65 years ago, this 335 x 170 cm (10'12" × 5'7") kilim unfolds its large cream and golden yellow diamond medallions on a red ground that time has rendered richer still.
A composition that reads from one end to the other with the fluency of those who know how to tell a story without repeating themselves.
