Sivas, Central Anatolia, 60 years old. Within its 228 x 145 cm (7'6" × 4'9"), this kilim plays with form as few others dare. Its vivid orange and fuchsia pink geometric blocks, cut through with black with an almost graphic precision, compose a surface that belongs to no particular era.
Woven by hand in natural wool, it has everything of the ancient and something strangely modern.
