Vintage Yuncu kilim rug - 285 x 175 cm

There are kilims that fill every space, and others that know how to let it breathe. In this large Yuncu of some 70 years, nine diamonds float across a generous red, each extending into small scrolls that open like arms.

Between them, the weaver scattered tiny white signs, hourglasses, S-shapes, chevrons, like seeds thrown onto the earth or birds passing through. They are barely detectable from a distance, and reveal themselves as one draws closer. A great field of silence where everything is told in a low voice.
