One does not expect these colours from Adana. Across these 134 x 100 cm (4'5" × 3'3"), powder pink, water green, cream and chocolate brown compose a soft and luminous palette, almost Nordic, that 65 years have rendered still more subtle by dissolving the tones into one another.
Five large hexagonal medallions interlock across the entire surface, some light, some dark, alternating with a logic that belongs at once to intuition and to mastery. This is a kilim one was not looking for and no longer wants to leave.
