Aydin, Western Anatolia, 65 years old. Within its 340 x 190 cm (11'2" × 6'3"), this kilim unfolds three large hexagonal medallions that follow one another along the full length, terracotta, golden ochre and khaki green, each different from the last in its interior details.
It is composed of two panels sewn together on a narrow nomadic loom, and the slight variations in tone between the two parts, imperceptible from a distance, visible up close, are the dyer's signature, proof that each dye bath is unique and never exactly reproduced.
