Menemenci, in Western Anatolia, produces kilims of dense composition where each band carries its own language.
Woven by hand in natural wool some 60 years ago, this 125 x 100 cm (4'1" × 3'3") kilim weaves across a deep bordeaux ground a succession of small geometric motifs in orange, ochre and white that follow one another with a precision and a richness one could look at for a long time without exhausting.
